Okay, I need some sort of motivation to hit the pavement. I know 10000 steps have their monthly challenges, but I was wondering if there were any websites that had a similar scheme in setting monthly challenges, except using distance rather than number of steps (I don't want to carry a pedometer).
Any ideas appreciated!! |

I think myfitnesspal has groups that have running challenges (though Im not involved in them).
At the moment Im part of a group that is doing a challenge on Marathon Talk. The Jantastic Challenge is to run a set amount of times per week, Febulous is then setting a goal for distance of long runs, then Marchvellous - setting a pace target. I am also aiming to run 2013km in 2013, which translates to just over 38km per week, which is pretty achievable. Hope you find something |

If you have a Nike+ (and the app) you can add challenges. I have just found my old one and am going to start using it again. (I had set myself a goal to be able to run 5km by end of Feb, I need to get a move on.
Otherwise there are other apps, like the Zombie running one to keep you motivated. |
