I'm meeting my gf for brunch and would like a nice cafe to go to that is not too noisy. I will be getting off at central station so anywhere from central to surry hills would be great.

I must be showing my age with the noise thingo... just don't like going to places where you almost have to yell across the table to talk.

Thanks biggrin.gif

p.s It's for a Sat morning

Instead of a cafe...Yum cha? Or Vietnamese noodles?

Central is close to some amazing Asian places.
My pick would be Pasteur. It's a tragic looking Vietnamese restaurant on George St near Central. But the food is FANTASTIC and cheap. Beautiful chicken pho...the deep fried spring rolls are great and even better when rolled in lettuce leaves.

Or yum cha at Zilver...near the Capitol Theatre. Delicious.

Or....if you like northern Chinese food I can recommend a number of places....mmmmm...pan fried dumplings...spring pancakes....mmm....

Hi Knittingkitten, thanks for the suggestions but we would prefer a cafe for brunch (pastries - eggs)..

Any other suggestions would be welcome !

There's nice places along mist streets but I would say a gastro pub is the best choice if you're after less crowded less loud type of enviornment. Just exit central at elizabeth and you'll find several nice pubs. Its a Sat morning so any decent cafe will be packed...there are some great ones but too crowded IMO

Quiet cafes and Surry Hills on a Saturday morning will be tricky to marry up.

Four Ate Five is good - 485 Crown St Surry Hills as is Lemon Twist 393 Crown St Surry Hills but both will be busy.
