Hoping one of the domestic goddesses who frequents this area of EB might be able to point me in the direction of some nice storage baskets / organisers.
I have an ikea expedit in my sons room that I would like baskets for - preferably a wooden/cane look, but canvas would be ok if it were in a neutral kind of colour. Dimensions seem to be about 33 x 33 x 37. I also sorted my linen cupboard today Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. I can't see anything I like on target online or howards storage world. |

I love looking at expedit ideas on pinterest.
Here are some inspiring boards: http://pinterest.com/mum2boys/expedit/ http://pinterest.com/jbruner/expedit/ http://pinterest.com/nancyjames/expedit/ Most have actually gone with ikea baskets or similar and then covered in fabric or paper to customise. |

These ones are a perfect fit for the Expedit unit (and they are rattan). Expensive to start off but last forever.
http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/80173153/ I originally bought http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products...1592/#/10219282 which are heaps cheaper but if they are for kids toys they get trashed. They lean on them when they get toys out and then they go out of shape. This post has been edited by hopefully more: 28/01/2013, 04:30 PM |

We have these in the kids' Expedit shelves
http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/50173300/ They come in full size or half size and both are handy. They are a softer material to wicker/cane which works well for kids because we have less broken bits. We have NZ water hyacinth baskets for shoes near our stairs and the kids' baskets are slowly disintegrating due to the 'crisp' nature of the baskets. For my linen cupboard, I will be using a mixture of plastic and wire baskets with good ventilation. I don't want the infrequently used items to smell stale. |

Wow - so helpful, thanks all.
Will have to get to Bunnings and see if I can find the baskets IRL as they sound like they could be a winner. We are too far to get to IKEA (managed to pick up one of the expedits second hand). |

I discovered the Logan Ikea have a delivery service for what I considered to be a reasonable fee. They also have a service where you can order over the phone.
It's a third party who have set it up so not directly Ikea. Maybe your local Ikea have something similar? |
