The fembos go so overboard.
Does anyone use VOIP on naked DSL for their phone calls? If so, did you get to keep the same phone number or did you have to change?

My area is finally covered so I am looking to change over.

Thanks.

No more room at the inn
No, new number as VOip suppliers have a group of numbers they allocate and our new number is very different to our old land line number. Landline through exchange etc VOip through internet different process.

When people call your new number is it classed as a homeline or a mobile number?

Anyone know as we're thinking of swapping over to Naked too.

Sometimes people are able to keep their number, but if they ever want to change back or to another provider they find they have to give up the number.Whirlpool has some info:http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/lnp

We are on Naked DSL here, so we only have a strange number unrelated to the local exchange. In our old house, we had VOIP, but not on Naked DSL, so we had a normal landline into the house as well, which also meant that if the power went out, we could plug in an old phone and still make calls. BIL is on the same as we had there, so he has a normal landline to the house and we can call him on his old number, when when he calls us, the caller ID is his VOIP number.

When people call in, it's a local call.

Really? When was this???

I had to change my number with Exetel and so did my parents. We had to choose a number from the closest major city which happened to be Newcastle 450km South. I too have people telling me that my number is weird.
