I think I remember reading about some new seats having a higher limit for FF in a 5-point harness? To around 120cm tall? I've lent a seat to my parents in order to keep my kids in 5-point (they want to put my kids in boosters) and I'd like to buy a replacement if it will last until around 120cm tall. Am I doing the right thing? FWIW, DD is 6y/o 106cm 14kg (long legs short torso) and DS is 4y/o 104cm 15kg long torso, short legs - shoulders are higher in the seat than DD's). I don't want to move them into boosters until I absolutely have to, I also don't want to have to deal with the fallout of DS moving into a booster before DD. Which seats should I be looking at?

I've just had a look at them online, they are so pricey! Maybe we'll just have to do the carseat shuffle until the kdis grow a bit more.

If $$ are are issue, look at the SnS Guardian in Target. It was on sale recently for half price - I think it was $184. It has the same shell as the Compaq and Lifestyle, but a different base, so the height markers should be the same.

I can't see the catalogue online anymore but it was in ther ecent baby sale, which I think ends tomorrow. They only seem to stock this model when they have a baby sale. You can see it in their online store but it says sold out. They also had the Trojan (same seat as Guardian but different cover and accessories) for $249. The Compaq does have more features - nicer cover, easy adjust harness, seatbelt lockoff. One downside is that it is taller than the Guardian because it has a taller base.

I would try the Infa Rovette sold in Kmart. I think it would suit a child till over 120cm and is not to expensive. I have an older style (not height marked) Cargo Marathon which is also quite tall. Im not sure what the change to booster height markers on the current model are like.
