Hi, my DH & I are having lots of trouble deciding on a name for our DD who is due in March. We generally like more traditional names but don't want anything that has become really popular - and it has to flow with a very unusual surname that sounds Latin/Greek. We have a DS named Karl - for those who are skilled at making sure we avoid a 'Sam and Ella' situation.
So far we have: Alexandra Sophie (probably more as a middle name since it is so popular now) Claudia Charlotte I need more! I haven't been sleeping well and don't want to trust my sleep deprived state. Only a few days ago I actually said "Jelly is a nice name... if it didn't mean jelly..." while staring into space. Please help, so my daughter doesn't end up being named after a dessert. |

Some nice names there.
Charlotte and Karl are variants of same name, so I'd take that one off the list. (Charlotte also is probably too popular for you, as is Sophie). I love Alexandra : Alexandra Charlotte or Alexandra Sophie are good. Claudia is ok but maybe a bit clunky with Karl? other ideas: Lydia Julia Juliet Diana Christina Helena Penelope Celia Thea Phoebe Mary Tessa |

DD's name is Claudia so of course I love that! Claudia Sophie flows really well.
Charlotte is probably matching Sophie in popularity - it's been top ten for years - but it's also lovely. In saying that though, I don't think Karl and charlotte make a nice sibset given that they have basically the same few sounds at the start of the names. I also love Alexandra - you can't go wrong with any of the names. |
