My 3yr old twins have recently dropped their nap. I am giving them quiet time each day in their room for about 1-1.5hrs. They have books and a leap frog toy where they can trace letters but it doesn't give feedback as to whether they did it correctly.
I am looking at buying them an educational device so they can use that during quiet time and learn alphabet, numbers, writing etc.
I will be buying them one each and can't afford any more than $150 each. Does anyone have any suggestions of a device - tablet, leappad etc? iPad is out of the question as they are far too expensive even on ebay

My parents gave kiddo a VTech Innotab 2 (no wifi hehe) for Christmas. She's just 2 and seems to be figuring it out pretty quickly. It comes with a camera/video app, drawing studio, and some other goodies. You can download additional apps and they aren't pricey. Kiddo is happy just using the art studio, music player, and the two apps we've downloaded for free (an Alphabet game and a musical instruments game). We'll probably add some counting and shapes apps in a couple weeks. There are a LOT more apps for 4yo+ but a fair selection for 1-3yos.

My 3 year old and 5 year old have a leap pad each. They aren't easily broken unlike a real tablet. And when you buy the apps you can download them onto both leap pads and only pay once I got mine on Amazon for $99 each plus around $12 shipping, link below - click to change colour to pink as the green one won't ship here

Mine love the Leappad, the games are really good for it too, I buy all games from amazon to keep costs down.

Today we bought the Pendo Pad 4.0 from coles for only $89, DH needs to do something to it (root?) so we can use Google play store then we can get all the free apps off there.
