Hi everyone, I have a six month old who's been on solids a couple of weeks. At the moment he is spending lots of time on his tummy, which is great, but he's also posseting a lot! He's got the all clear for reflux. Just wondering at what age they grow out of posseting?

Unfortunately I don't have an answer to your question - just replying here to repeat it, really! My little boy has just turned one and still chucks up almost constantly! Hopefully your little one grows out of it soon.

Thanks for replying Madamturbo! Gee whiz, a year, my carpet will be ruined, lol! So frustrating when he's squeaky clean from a bath and then chunders everywhere! I'm hoping things get better when he starts to sit up unassisted, fingers crossed!

It can increase when baby starts to crawl too, ie they are bent over so you are right that it can calm down when they are upright.
Perhaps consider the amounts you are giving and the timing of floor play? Sorry about your carpets, I know my friends baby killed a couple of woollen rugs, she was a shocker but she was miserable as well (and ended up on reflux meds, they stopped her misery but not the vomits though), so if your baby is not upset that's good, albeit messy. All the best. |

My brother was a 'happy chucker' as mum used to call him. He grew out of it about the time he started walking.

Thanks lucky 2, that's something to think about. He drinks a lot of formula, hence the recommendation by the MCHN to start solids a bit before six months. He has improved since upping his meals to two a day, so that may be helping? I keep him upright after meals but he's such an active little boy, he gets frustrated if he can't wriggle around! He loves his play gym and swings and rolls around it like a gymnast!

Hehe, Sydblue, yes, DS is also a happy chucker! My brother was a reflux baby and Mum said for the first year of his life they carried around a soda water bottle for the carpet stains, so I might start doing that as well!
