I know that this is not an ideal situation, but once a fortnight it looks like my DH is going to have to drop my DS (almost 4) to pre-school in the morning. Mu husband drives a Mitsubishi Express Van for his plumbing business, and as far as we can work out it has no anchor points! It only has the drivers seat, and one passenger seat, as the rear of the van has been converted and racked with plumbing gear.

So, we need to try and find a good booster seat that can go in the passenger seat for the 5 minute drive to pre-school. Swapping cars wont work, as I will need to drop our DD at daycare (in the other direction) before I have to start teaching at school at 8.30am that morning - and pre-school doesn't open till 8.30am!

So, as I said, it is not ideal. But, it is a 5 minute drive once a fornight and I figure there has to be a workable solution

So, car seat gurus - any suggestion for me please???

Tour choice is a foam booster or the Infa Folding booster.

My choice is the infa as I think the big side wings on the foam boosters could interfere with driver viewing.

Thank you so much IsolaBella, that is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. He is 4 in March so will be able to use this option from then on And I know it isn't ideal, but at least there are possible solutions. The folding Infa Secure looks perfect, as it will be easy to remove and store in the back of the van too.

The Infa is the one I was going to suggest - I have one as a spare seat and it is great and very handy to move in and out the car! You can get them at Big W and I think Kmart have them now too - about $59.

I thought you could get a bolt added into cars which don't have them.
My sister did for her child (ok, it WAS 17 yrs ago) in her older cars.

Depends on the car. Most cars to add an anchor point where there is no pre drilled point is actually a structural change to the car and will need engineering certificate. This can cost up to $2-3k to do.

Most passenger cars will have the holes pre drilled, so most people are removing cap from cover and screwing in anchor point.
