I've noticed a couple of posts about class lists in the past couple of days. This is a foreign concept to me because our school has never done this. I'm wondering if it is a common practice and whether it is does across all sectors of school, or is something more common to either private or public education?

Does your child's school post class lists, and is it a private or public school?

Our public primary school doesn't do this.

Independent (private) Christian school.

No, our public school has a sort of orientation day at the end of each year, so the children meet their teacher, see their classmates and see their new room. We don't get a list sent home though.

No. My kids public primary school doesn't do it.

same here but we are non-govt. Also, my daughter's school is pretty fluid in that if someone really belongs somewhere else, they get moved in the first few weeks

Ours go up on the last day of holidays - ie. first day the teachers are back.

Last school ( public ) they met had a time on the last day of term where they went to the new class, teacher and classmates. We also got a note home that afternoon to say they would be in room x with teacher x but no list. Kids usually remembered who was in the class anyway.

This school ( catholic ) they do the same except its usually in the last week of school rather than last day.
