DP and I are finally going to get married (9.5years and two children later!). We are planning a very small wedding sometime in January 2014. DP's parents will be here and have offered to look after our children, so we are thinking of going somewhere on the Sunshine Coast for three nights after we're married and I'd love some recommendations for hotels/resorts in the area.
I really like Noosa, but know there are many other nice areas there so it doesn't have to be Noosa. We want somewhere a bit luxurious and really relaxing. Would like a nice pool area as we plan to really just do a lot of lazing around doing nothing! Would also like to be able to walk to the beach and restaurants/shopping street. We live on the Gold Coast, so have been up to the Sunshine Coast quite often, but only really for day trips. If anyone could recommend somewhere really nice that they have stayed I'd love to hear your recommendations. Thanks |

I would go to Spicer's Clovelly Estate because it has delicious food, but there's also the Tamarind Estate that is situated next to a water fall. Neither are on the beach though. They're on the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
At Noosa, we stay at the Sheraton. It's not the most luxurious of places but is reasonable. It has a pool bar that you can swim up to. It's smack bang in the middle of Hastings St so everything is close. We rarely eat within the resort, preferring to eat elsewhere. I like Noosa, but for a honeymoon, travel a few hours further north and indulge up at Palm Cove/Port Douglas. There are a few Pepper's Resorts up there that would beat any accommodation Noosa has to offer. |
