After years spent yoyo dieting, I am bigger than ever! I have decided that there's no quick fix and I have to be slow and consistent. So, I'm aiming to lose around 1/2-1kg a week using MFP and walking an hour 3-4 times a week. I am only 5'4" so I have 15 kgs to lose and will weigh in on Mondays and will update here. It's going to be hard to maintain this weekend!!

SW: 21/1/13: 77.5kgs(gulp!)

Congrats on your decision.

My recommendation is to get yourself Michelle Bridges crunchtime cookbook to help you stick to your calories! I've done the meal plan for three weeks now, and have lost three kilos! I'm your height as well. It's three 300ish calorie meals a day, which allows you to snack IF you want (so yes I did have a small glass of wine last night happy.gif ). But mostly, I don't even feel the need to.

GOOD LUCK! biggrin.gif

Great decision! I lost 15kgs a few years ago through calorie counting and moderate exercise - you have to be consistent and dedicated but it DOES work! Try to eat a lot of protein - it fills you up and keeps you full. I always had an egg and veggie omelette for breakfast, a meat soup or salad for lunch and then grilled fish or chicken with salad/veg for dinner. Snacks would be a small yogurt tub if I wanted something sweet or veggie sticks and salsa if I wanted something with a 'crunch.'

Oh, and if you just HAVE to have some chocolate - get a small milky way - hardly any calories and eat it slowly.

Good luck!

My goal also is for sensible and sustainable weight loss, although I am not calorie counting. I'm going to do this 10-week challenge original.gif http://www.healthyweightweek.com.au/index....geID=2145868067

It's definitely do-able OP if you stick with it and be consistent. I lost 10kgs at the end of last year (over about 12 weeks) doing 1200 cals on MFP and walking 3-4 times per week.

Good luck !

Me too! I started on Boxing day and have lost about 3 kg. 1200 calories per day hasn't been that hard really. I'm trying to snack on fruit only. The biggest thing I have noticed is that if I don't buy crap, then it's not there in the cupboard to be tempted by.

I've been walking 6 days per week for 45-60min and I'm now starting to feel like I need to do something a bit more vigourous.

I'm really excited and motivated to continue! I stuck to the 1200 this week except fri and sat when we had functions. Even then I was careful and only went a few hundred over and tried to make wise choices, not easy when eating out!!

Today in my first weeks weigh in I lost 1.8kgs! This has really motivated me. I'm reading the MFP forums for support, they are great!!

mgb that is fantastic!! biggrin.gif

It's so motivating to see those numbers get smaller!

I weigh the same as I did last Tuesday morning, meaning I put back on the 0.4 I'd lost between Tues and Fri (I weigh in both days). But given the weekends antics I am not at all surprised!

This week it's no cheats!
