What do you think of the name Anya, it has to go with the name Isla?
Thoughts?

I like it but it depends on the surname. Don't like it with Isla, it makes it sound like onion

Love it, but it would make me crazy that they both end in the -a sound... But that's just my weird issue probably!

Funnily enough I was once also considering Anya and Isla. I think they may sound too similar, but they look different enough to still have on the list.

I dont think they are too similar - so many girls names end in a, having one girl with an -a ending name wouldnt make me reject another -a ending one.

I prefer Anna to Anya though.

I have a niece called Anya - love it! I don't think having similar sounding names is an issue - her sister's name is Meiya. I think they compliment each other.

It's ok, but doesn't excite me. I wouldn't use it with Isla.

I think I liked the name more before I read Game of Thrones, because the character named Anya is very annoying.

I like Anya more than Anna or Annie, but less than Annika or Annabel.

I don't mind both ending in -a at all, but that combined with the vowel starts makes them tangle a little as I say them out loud. I mumble-mouth a lot though.

Isla and Katya, though, for example, would give me no trouble, the consonant at the front gives it some solidity. Isla and Amy or Astrid is okay too because they sound less alike at the end. Or, you know, I am insane, that could be the case too.
