Ladies are you buying much wintery maternity wear?

I need a few more basics and have been looking at Old Navy (my fave) and they have some nice looking long sleeve tops.... for like $13.... but I'm not sure I will end up needing them. it's so damn hot right now it's hard to think that in April it would be cool enough for long sleeves, lol.
And then after bubs comes I'm not going to want something that accentuates the now deflated belly sag area!!!

I'm slightly different as I have clothes left over from previous pregnancies that I could wear (2 previous Winter babies), but could you just layer cardies, jackets over your short sleeve tops?

I'm thinking I'll only have around 6-8 weeks of cold-ish weather before baby is born (due late May in Perth), plus a few weeks after birth as I transition back to "normal" clothes (although I'll need clothes with access for BF at this time.)

Having said that $13 is pretty cheap, so perhaps just a couple couldn't hurt surely?

Curious is the sizing on gap/old navy that whole site american or aussie?? generous or not I should say?

I'm 120kg (size 20 on bottom - 18 in tops usually) and when I bought my first lot of maternity from them I went XXL on all items and thought they might be small, lol. I remember when I lived in Canada they seemed pretty much same sizing as here. Anyway... One top is good size, one was huge and I could do a L in that one, skirts are just a little big but might be OK in last trimester.... should try them on again now and check acutally as I bought them weeks ago, gaucho shorts are maybe one size too big but I still wear them and they are fine. Might just be a little better one size down.

To compare I just got 2 pairs of pants in Ninth Moon brand (in size 22!! as I know they can be a little small in that brand) I bougth online and one was ok (yoga pant style) and one was too tight (same exact cut but work pant material). So I would say Old Navy is generous by comparison! READ THE REVIEWS! If you open each item there is usually lots of reviews that indicate fitting - that dress, for example, a lot of buyers are saying was too long... but for $9 I could pay someone to take it up I totally should have known to downsize on the top I got which is too long and baggy as the reviews said so, but being plus size you always think it's impossible for something to be too big - ha!

Oh and I'm sending both pairs of the Ninth Moon pants back (bought in Australia) and buying Old Navy's yoga pants instead. Cheaper for a start. I think I paid $40 for shipping last time from Old Navy for 5 items but even still they meant each item cost $25 on average for the total I spent!!

I thin kthat's a good point - I might buy one of their cardis or hoodies. They even have cute little denim jackets.

I haven't even thought about winter clothes yet! I was planning on worrying about that later when the weather starts to get cooler. But will be stalking for some tips and awesome deals!

I had a look at OldNavy and whilst I could find a bit to buy I could not justify th $63.30 shipping cost. I have no winter maternity wear and my SIL's that have had babies are not my size. I have a stack of cardi's that I can put over my tops. I have brought 3 shirts for work which are all maternity, I am sure I will get really sick and tired of them very quickly!

I have enough left over from past two pregnancies and I am not working this time so dont really care if I do the last few weeks in trackies.

I also will just layer if need to. Non maternity cardies are fine not done up

When I was pregnant with DS1 (born early Oct) I was so hot all the time I went through winter in Melbourne with short-sleeved tops and a thin cotton cardi.

I wasn't catching public transport to work though, simply from house to car to car park to office.

If I was out and about in the weather on the weekend I had a pre-preg woolen wrap cardi that I put over top of a short or long-sleeved top (I bought two stretchy ones from Ripe Maternity and have worn them for the last few winters too!) which saw me through the winter quite nicely.
