Two questions ,
1. How long does pancake batter last in the fridge? Cn I freeze it, I made it Monday morning.
2. How long does it usually take to defrost a whole chicken, in the fridge of course.

I think batter lasts a couple of days, Id still use it today. However not sure it freezes.

A frozen chicken takes me 3-4 days to fully defrost in the fridge. Im really impatient and plan poorly these days. Im going to risk a flame to say I defrost it on the sink, but I also live in a cold climate.

Pancake batter gets used the next day here or thrown out. Not sure about freezing it. A chicken gets taken out the morning before. So if it was to be cooked for Sunday night I would take it out of the freezer first thing Saturday morning.

Bung the chook in an eski and let it defrost in there - if you want it for Thursday night's dinner then put in in on Wednesday evening.

I don't think you can freeze pancake batter - I've never tried.
You can however freeze pancakes! I had a uni friend who would have a stack of pancakes - separated with a layer of baking paper - and wrapped in gladwrap in his fridge all the time.

Just yank one out and bung it in the microwave! Thanks for reminding me of that OP!

I'd say pancake batter wouldn't last or freeze. Mainly because the rising agent is baking powder that starts to react when it gets wet and if you delay the cooking too long, it exhausts itself so you won't get as good a rise latter. Flat pancakes are no fun.

Defrosting hicken in the fridge? Takes me 2 days but our fridge is cold. If I'm disorganized, I'll defrost in the oven on the defrost setting. I'll cook it immediately though and won't let it sit around unneccessarily.

Pancake batter lasts 24 hours in the fridge, but you can freeze cooked pancakes, and they defrost well.

I defrost meat in the microwave, including frozen chooks. It takes 20 minutes on a low setting. In the fridge it takes forever, and I usually don't have the fridge space.

Same but in the microwave (not turned on) so the cat doesn't eat it. It take too long in the fridge and I hate stuff that has been microwave defrosted.
