Thinking, thinking...
I started having root canal in Bangkok, after discovering an asymptomatic infection that needed treating. I was planning to return to Bangkok to finish the root canal, but airfares have gone up considerably and I'm thinking I may need to finish the job in Canberra sad.gif .

Has anybody been really happy with their root canal? If so, can you let me know where you went and about how much it cost? If it helps, it's an anterior tooth so I think a simpler job than a molar.

I saw an endodontist in Canberra before I went to Bangkok (for a different matter) and the Bangkok dentist was SO much better sad.gif - I'm really quite sad not to be able to return to her sad.gif .

I just had root canal yesterday (but in Sydney). I had heard horror stories but it was great! No pain, quick & no where near as expensive as I'd imagined.

I will need another appointment but at this one they took all the roots out (3) & put in a temp filling & next week I go back for the proper filling. It cost $580ish including 2 X-rays. I imagine the next appt will be cheaper. It's a molar & she's not mentioned a crown yet but I imagine it's possible I'll need one in the future.

How grand it must be, to be the chosen one...
I go to Wanniassa Dental Surgery - they are very patient with me being so scared of the dentist.

I see subin dutta as well in gungahlin. He is lovely.

If you join up to url="http://www.smile.com.au/"]http://www.smile.com.au[/url]/ (its a dental plan) you get a discount too with him - they have a schedule of payments for specific treatments, or you get 15% discount if your treatment isn't on the list.

good luck

Shiny
DH had RCT on a front upper tooth about 3 months ago. He paid $800 each for 2 appointments - one to have the initial therapy, where they put the 'medicine' in his tooth, then a second, where they flushed it all out & plugged it up again (albeit with a 'temp' filling).
This was at the endodontist near The Canberra Hospital - Dr. Dahlstrom, I think.
