Hi ladies..

I am currently planning to get a prepaid sim card for my 12yo daughter. I have an old mobile so I just need a sim card.

This mobile is only for emergency use if let say i'm running late for school pick up or if i dont turn up at certain time (the what if's), she can call someone in our emergency list.

So, I need a prepaid plan which can keep credit for at least a year or doesnt have an expiry date. I've never used prepaid before and i dont want to just sign for something that is going to useless or a scam.

please share what works for u.. thanks.

3 is the number for me
My son uses Lycamobile. You can get a sim card from newsagencies that sell phone cards. I don't think the credits expire. I use it to call overseas as well as the rates are much cheaper than from my landline.

This - it is called Vodafone 365. The credit expires after 12 months. Most others expire after a month.

Where do you live OP?

Where I live only Telstra phones have reliable coverage - I would triple check this before you sign up to a great deal with one of the other providers...

Yes, I was about to say the same thing. We can only get Telstra coverage where I live, and the only provider that uses the Telstra network is Telstra.

I have a Nokia 1616 with Vodafone 365 that I use as back up when travelling or leave with my daughter if I go away without her. The phone is basic, no camera, no fb or anything else, no internet access, just talk, text, a couple of basic games and a torch. It's been great for us, but we have travelled to places that have no coverage for certain services.
