So DS is in fulltime care and knowing the cap for CCR is $7500 but we will spend more than 15k in a year - I'm wondering about our CCR payments?
We are currently receiving CCR directly each week. As the amount we receive is less than 50% what we pay in the week - I had assumed that they had taken into account that we will exceed cap- but I've just worked it out over 52 weeks and it would by 9k+ ?? Once we reach 7500 will they just stop payments? Or are we possibly going to be hit with a 'debt' to FAO after tax? If anyone can help it would be much appreciated- this is the first time we have exceeded the cap in a year. |

We are in exactly the same position. My kids are only in three days a week so I think we are going to run out a few weeks before the end of the financial year. I assume that it would just stop being credited off our fees once we reach the limit but interested to hear from someone who has been on that situation?!

We have never been hit with a bill. They seem to work it out.

I pay more than 30K in fees for my two, but I get CCR back at the end of every quarter, so I don't think I can help, sorry. I end up not getting much/any back for the last qtr of the year.

Thanks for the responses. I'm thinking they will probably just start to cut down the amount. It's weird though because they increased it like a month ago!

Our CCR just stops some time around April. We have two in care for 5 days. Centrelink should also send a statement around that time telling you that payments have ceased and how much they have paid over the financial year (which should be $7500 per child if the cap is reached).
Roll on 1st July when it all resets.... |

I don't know about the cap and the CCR but remember that they hold 15% of the CCR back each week/fortnight/quarter in case you underestimate income so when you look at what you get rebated it will never be exactly 50% as it gets balanced out at the end of the year. Hope that makes sense! We have just increased our daycare to 3 days a week for 2 kids (was 2 days) & it hadn't even occurred to me to look at the cap! Will have to do some sums now I think

They just stop when you reach the limit - there is no cutting down.
I get mine paid directly to the daycare weekly and that it what happens, when it runs out I pay full fees. They will be paying you less than the 50% amount due to having a non-zero CCB. If you have a non-zero CCB they keep some of the rebate back so you don't get overpaid. I have a 0% CCB so get the full CCR each week. I make sure I put aside extra for daycare for the last quarter (when I pretty much don't get any CCR) throughout the year so its not such a big hit. |
