First time around DH and I agreed on names early and from then just enjoyed the ride, this time I've got two months to go and we just can't agree, even on the style of name.
Our DD is Dylan Kate, which in itself is not an unusual name but for a girl it's definitely different. So I think we need an equally different/unusual (but not weird) name for this baby. We don't know the gender and every conversation is ending in tears (literally) I have my heart set on Peyton for a girl and Chase for a boy. I may be able to get Peyton over the line, but Chase is just not going to happen. Some of DH's boy suggestions are Liam, Owen, Jackson. None of which I think go well with female Dylan. Any advice on how I can get over the names that I absolutely love enough to even consider anything else?? And name suggestions would be very greatly appreciated. Thanks heaps, Vicki |

I feel for you. Are there any family names that are now unusual enough to be a little quirky for a boy but not weird? Maybe that may help you form an attachment to a name you haven't considered yet.
Name suggestions: Ace Archer Griffin Deon Greyson |

Honestly, I'm not sure how Liam or Owen go any worse with Dylan than Chase does - maybe you're looking for a reason to discount all his suggestions? I'm not too sure how long you have to go but if you have time maybe take a couple of weeks breathing space to not talk about names and let the subject settle for a bit, things might feel better when there's less pressure.

Heard the name Dylan and immediately thought Jovi (not 100% sure if correct spelling) would go together. No idea why but its different without being too out there.

I haven't got any clever ideas to get you to unlove your names. I agree that your DH's list don't sit all that well with big sister's name.
Can I tempt you with any of these? Girl: Harper Wallis Riley Sheridan Jordan Bailey Paris Morgan Rowan Clancy Sydney Marlo Adair Boy: Clay Wade Seth Trey Tarn Boyce Braith Blaine Spike Gray Beau Cole This post has been edited by Gudrun: 22/01/2013, 12:28 AM |

Hi there,
I like Dylan Kate and Lola or Reeve for a girl and Riley or Seth for a boy. Good luck! Magenta |

I really like Peyton so I say stick with that for a girl
For a boy I'm not much help but think as your DD has a traditional male name I think you should go with a strong masculine name if you have a boy... I do like Owen tho... Dylan & Owen go nicely |
