I'm currently 11 weeks pregnant just moved from SOR to Alexander heights I had DS1 at Osborne park hospital 9 yrs ago and found them great back then, I just called them wanting to go back there again and they were quite unfriendly she needsa referral from my previous gp which is fine, but they don't do antenatal appointments till 20 weeks? With ds1 I was going for appointments there from 8 weeks... anyway my question is I'm after a good gp who bulk bills preferably to see for my pregnancy check ups...

Alternatively a decent and friendly public hospital, the woman I just spoke to has really put me off

Most public hospital hospitals only do appointments from 20 weeks these days.

I have a few friends around that area so I can ask around for you. Also do you have health care card because if you don't I don't like your chances of Finding a bulk billing doctor that has a free spot.......

Sadly, Good GP and bulk billing don't tend to go together in Perth.

I think they've recently started reinforcing service areas for the maternity hospitals. I had DD1 at Osborne Park, but now apparently I can't go there again as I'm out of the area. If you're in the area for Osborne Park you'll probably have to go there. It's a lovely hospital and they've recently refurbished the rooms, don't let the receptionists put you off.

There is a female GP at Kingsway Medical Centre who's lovely but I can't recall her name sorry. We see he for DS's regular immunisation appointments etc. Call them & ask for a lady GP. They bulk bill for children so you could always ask the question.

Also have you thought about King Edwards Birth Centre?? I gave birth there ( DS is 1) and had the most awesome experience. All midwife led & low risk pregs only, they encourage natural birth and offer water birth if you're interested.

I live in Darch & was originally booked into birth at Joondalup. I was very happy with the clinic there but moved to KEHM BC as I wanted a water birth.

My GP/OB delivers at Osbourne Park Hospital. He practices at the Lindisfarne medical centre in Mt Lawley. Highly recommend Dr Churchward!

There are many GP's that deliver at Osborne Park- sorry dont know any names but there is a variety. I recently worked at Osborne Park as a student midwife and absolutely loved it. I would definitely have my future babies there. The midwives are very experienced and control the labour ward so very midwifery led care. I saw many natural drug free births there and the doctors try to intervene as little as possible which is very different to other places I have been. They also have a bath now to labour in and the labour rooms have their own separate lounge area and ensuite. Would highly recommend Ozzy Park with GP shared care.
