love the shabby chic vintage look, but have a modern house

Any tips how I can incorporate shabby chic, vintage decor in a modern house? Any good websites? I have a reasonably modern house, large white tiles, grey kitchen cupboards with darker grey bench top. A large black and grey micro suede couch and glass black dining table and TV unit. I would love a kitchen Reno and all new furniture lol, but that is not practical. There are no rules to say you can only do modern decor in a modern house, or shabby chic in an old cottage. In fact, it can look really overdone if you completely match your decor to your house style IMO. If you google 'shabby chic in a modern home' you'll find plenty of inspiration.
