I am curious if any other members had a low or no carbohydrate diet whilst breastfeeding with no negative effect or drop in their supply?
I was on a low carb diet before conceiving and had great results, since having bubs Ive been on around 1800 calories a day but the weight wont shift at all. I know for my body to lose weight I need to cut back on carbs but dont want to jeporise feeing my baby which is far more important. Really appreciate your feedback. |

I would think that 1800 calories a day is quite a low intake for BF, I would not be cutting out a major (energy producing) food group when I was BF.

I went paleo and after a week my milk vanished. There was no warning. It took 24 hours for my milk to come back. ( maybe it was a total coincidence, but I'm not doing I again).
I just got healthy mummy smoothies.... Am definitely starting on Monday... Or Tuesday... Possibly Wednesday.. Birthday Saturday... So maybe next Monday....???!! (Sorry for side tracking your thread withy slackness) |

Are you doing any exercise OP?
Plus, while you may be eating 1800 per day, are you eating lean, nutritious foods? Plus, how is your water intake? I ask as I've also been on 1800 per dy, am bf also, and found these were all factors in my weight loss success! |

QUOTE (millej13 @ 19/01/2013, 08:16 PM) 15252764[/url]'] Are you doing any exercise OP? Plus, while you may be eating 1800 per day, are you eating lean, nutritious foods? Plus, how is your water intake? I ask as I've also been on 1800 per dy, am bf also, and found these were all factors in my weight loss success! I admit my water isnt always great, I have been trying to keep an eye on it the past few days as with bubs its so easy to forget.I eat well, mainly veggo with some lean chicken. Not exercising properly despite best intentions :-( maybe thats my main bad.. I just know my own body from previous weight loss pre preggers that its veryyyyy slow with low cals/exercise, as soon as I go low/no carb the weight drops off. Maybe I should just try it for a week and see how I go. Supply isnt the best so am just a bit scared and dont want to mess with it but feel so so yuck in current weight :-( |
