"Hey mum?" said Nine Year Old Son. "Can I put a load of washing on? I just feel like it."

How awesome is this kid?

Pretty awesome.
If it were my kids, I would be waiting awhile and then saying "Okay, now what do you want or where do you want to go?"

Oh bummer.... This has just reminded me that I have a load to do today! Wish my DD, aged 6, would do it for me! LOL!

hi,

Always good to know kids can be thoughtful, even if they then ask for something.

Also love that other parents teach kids how to do things for themselves.

Good work

The washing is the easy part, but good on him. Hope he follows through with putting it out, folding it & putting it away. What a good little young man he is.

Thought I better put an add-on, that both girls can and do do things unasked.
The vacuuming and mopping and sweeping, are all things they actually enjoy.
They also work in the garden, and wash the car unasked.
DD13 also cooks dinner if she is in a non-hormonal mood.

DD dusted my home and vacuumed yesterday without asking or asking for a favour. She just cranked up some music and danced her way through it.

DS#2 brought me in a cappuccino before heading out with dh for the day and told me he hopes it will help me feel better (stuck in beds sick ATM).

DS#1 took all the washing off the line and put it away.

My kids have learnt that the less work I do, the more fun we can have together. I really appreciate them doing it now though when I'm sick without either of us asking.

Brag away! You have the floor!! biggrin.gif

The fact that he even noticed there was washing to be done puts him two steps ahead of a lot of kids the same age.
