I have sinus problems which have resulted in me being a bit less able to smell things than what i used to... so for me to notice a "bad smell" it must be really bad now.

I have two questions I'm hoping someone can help me with:

1. Our kitchen sink stinks. It's a double sink... one side has a garbage disposal and the other side is regular. The garbage disposal doesn't always work so we stopped using it long ago and have had no more dramas with that side. HOWEVER, recently, the other side (the normal sink side) STINKS. really really badly and i don't know how to get rid of the smell. It's embarrassing!! I can only smell it when I put my nose near the sink but DH can smell it the minute he enters the kitchen so i guess our guests can too? HELP!!

2. We keep our dog inside of a nighttime and he is well-trained and very rarely has accidents inside. HOWEVER, one night, when he was locked in "his" tiled room (the laundry room) he had some sort of virus or something and did diarrhea EVERYWHERE (i don't have kids and had seen NOTHING to this level of poo before in my entire life), literally ankle deep in wet, smelly poo and it was up the walls and everything. He was so sick Anyway, we managed to clean that up pretty well (time consuming and gross but we got there) BUT every now and then i cop a waft of a smell when i'm in that room and i can't tell if it's my imagination or whether it still smells like that. It's (obviously) not as bad a smell as it was the day it happenened or anything like that, but just a subtle "there was poo everywhere in here once" kind of smell. HELP. How can i get rid of it? I clean this room out daily, mop the floors at least every second day. I've glen20ed, I've no-vac-ed, i've put smelly dispenser smell thingos in tehre... NOTHING will chase that lingering smell

I would wash everything down with straight vinegar in the laundry.
What about draino for the kitchen sink or a good pour of domestos?

Is vinegar dog friendly though? It's still "his room" (he doesn't poo in it though now lol) and i don't want him licking vinegar and dropping dead...

For the sink pour a couple of cups of bi carb soda into the sink, pour a couple of cups of white vinegar over and wash it all down the sink with boiling water, about a kettle full.
And vinegar or eucalyptus oil will get rid of the smell, just put some in a bucket of hot water and use it to wash the floor and walls. A cup of bi carb sitting on the bench will absorb smells too, just replace every so often.

My sink was stinky a while ago. Teaspoon of bicarb followed by a slosh of white vinegar fixed it right up.

No idea on the dog poo stink though

The sink need some draino. Easy fix!

The 'poo room' I'm guessing has got some invisible faeces still lurking in the crevices between the skirting boards and the walls.

I would pull the skirting off take it outside and scrub the living hell out of it then leave it there to get some bacteria killing sunshine.

While it is off scrub the walls again with sugar soap.. then repaint.

For the sink (and sinkerator).

pour 1/2 cup bi-carb soda into each sink, followed by 1/2 cup vinegar.

Let it stop fizzing & then run plenty of hot water down the sink.

As for the puppy, i'm not sure.

Vinegar is not poisonous to your dog and I highly doubt he'd lick it anyway.
It all evaporates off and leaves no smell behind.

We do, actually, come to think of it. We didn't when he was younger but we got a bit lazy in that department for the last few months. He seems to tolerate it well most of the time though as this was a one-off diarrhea incident (he is inside EVERY night and the diarrhea was the ONLY time he's EVER pooed inside at all). The vet told us it was a bug though. Thankyou for the reminder to mix it up a little though
