Hello everyone,

Firstly i wasn't sure where to put this as it didn't seem to really "fit" anywhere and i know a lot of people come here so i might have a better chance of someone being able to shed some light.

I'm 29 with 2 children (5 & 3), i have depression (PTSD) and peripartum cardiomyopathy (DX 2009). I am currently on the pill (yasmin) and have been for the past 18+months. On oaccasion i skip my period with no ill effects. As i have been advised to have a period every 3 months, when the active pills in my current packet finished i didn't start a new pack, but instead haven't taken any for the past 7 days (sugar tablets). I'm due to start the new pack tomorrow, but i haven't had a period. Normally i get one on day 2/3 of the sugar tabs. I did a pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative.

I've also had 2 blood tests showing elevated liver levels and i'm getting results for my 3rd test today.

Just to add a little more excitement i got thrush last Thursday and did a 3 day course of canestan cream which didn't clear it up 100%. Yesterday i was so itchy i couldn't help but scratch (through clothing) and noticed one side was really swollen. I checked with a mirror it was definitely swollen and very red on one side of my V and caused a great dealing of stinging while weeing. SORRY way TMI.

Today that "area" is a little better but still a little swollen and red. I've not had this with thrush in the past.

Just in case you weren't feeling sorry for me yet, i got news on Wednesday that my heart condition, which was considered recovered/healed 6 months ago, has declined slightly. My EF (left ventricular ejection fraction) was 60% in August 2012 and it's now 50-55% and the cardiologist wasn't confident to say "normal". So now i face the possibility of having to go back on the heart medication i just weaned off and will make future pregnancies extremely risky and would definitely require medication while pregnant. sad.gif

I'm finding myself tired a lot too, but i'm not sure if it has to do with any of the above or simply from being a mum to 2 and working part time original.gif

Ok i think that's everything! And before anyone says "SEE your DOCTOR", i have an appointment today wink.gif

TIA biggrin.gif

For the thrush you can get from a pharmacist an over the counter one time oral tablet, that treats thrush much more effectively than just the cream. It's called canestan DUO and has a small tube of cream as well. It cost about $30 so it's a little $$$$ Also take a probiotic to keep it at bay especially whenever you are run down or ill as that is prime time for thrush to show up.
With your late period, i suspect it could be stress... even just the worry of your health/ heart condition could delay it. Also if you are run down and feeling tired too! Can I ask how your weight is? If you have lost or gained that can effect your cycle as well.
As for the tiredness, it's probably a combination of everything.
I hate taking extra vitamins etc, but when i'm feeling really run down, tired and am having health issues I take Swiss' liquid Chlorophyll which is a natural detox. It seems to work really well along with the probiotic. Oh and it is half price THIS week at Woolworths!!!!
Hope your drs appointment goes well and that your feeling better soon. xxxooo

Thanks for your reply emwill original.gif I remember you from the nappy forum many moons ago wink.gif

My weight is normal, 60kgs. I have just lost 3.5kg but over the course of 9 weeks by exercise and healthy eating.

My doc wasn't really sure what's going on. She gave me a form to get my bloods done to check for pregnancy or i can choose to just keep taking the pill which i'll probably do original.gif

I didn't get a withdrawal bleed two months in a row a few years ago and after double checking I wasn't pregnant my GP just swapped me to a lower dose pill and everything went back to normal. GP wasn't concerned at all, I got the feeling it was a fairly common thing.
