Hi,
DF and I are TTC #1 at the moment. I live in Hornsby, however would like to birth at RNSH for a few reasons; -I was born there! -I work in Chatswood, so appointments would be much easier there before/after work -My SIL had a bad experience at Hornsby, so im a little concerned. Do you think I would have problems trying to get into Midwife program at RNSH? My parents live in Forestville. Can I 'pretend' to live there???? How would they know otherwise? Thanks in advance for your advice! |

I have heard of people pretending to live elsewhere, I don't think it's that well policed. Or even call them up anonymously and ask whether you can nominate to go there even if you DO live in Hornsby?
Go check out the hospital though. If you're going public, see what the facilities are like - Hornsby is mostly private rooms and very nice, RNSH might be a bit fuller so check whether rooms are private or shared - sharing a room post birth is not fun. Appointments can often be arranged late in the evenings anyway, but I get that it has sentimental value! Out of interest, what happened to your sis? I've had my two bubs there and probably would again if there are more, so I want to know if there's anything bad! |

A little too late to reply, but i dont think they check.
They will only ask you about your address and directions how to get to your home in the third trimester, as they will get someone to come and see you and your LO at home. How long will it take you to get to the hospital from home? |
