Ok after some long and hard thinking.... this is what we have come up with:

For a girl:

Ruby Lee-Ann
(My mother's middle name is Lee, my mother in law's middle name is Ann)

and for a boy:

Jacob Raymond

(Raymond is DH's grandfathers name. It was either that middle name of Alfred!!!!)

I would have Ruby Lee Ann without the unecessary, hideous hyphen that is there to pretend it is only one middle name when really it's two and Jacob Raymond. Both of those are nice names.

I like Jacob Raymond.

As with Fifi, I would prefer Ruby Lee Ann without the hyphen.

I think you've done a great job coming up with names to do what you want them to do. And both combos flow perfectly.

I think Lee-Ann is most commonly thought of as one name, and I think it would be a lttle odd to separate it given this, though obviously you could. I think of Lee-Ann as a popular name a while back, that is spelt in various one word ways, with and without hyphen and sometimes a capital A for Ann/e in the middle with no hyphen but still one word.

I personally love Alfred and not so much Raymond but that doesn't matter. You have managed to smoothly incorporate family MNs, includng both the grandmothers in the neatest but still representative way.

Good work and good luck!

Why not have two middle names and make it Ruby Ann Lee?
Jacob Raymond is lovely.
I love that you are using family names for middle names.

I'm sorry but I actually don't like any of the name options at all.

I can understand your use of the MNs, but I really dislike both of the FN options.
