We are getting to the very tail end of our renovations now, the exterior is currently being reclad which was the last of the major items, which means we are also at the point of time for choosing paint colours!
The balcony handrails are the woodlands grey type colour, so the tiled roof will be restored and painted this colour also to match. Its currently a murky greeny colour. The rest of the house will be painted a creamy off white type colour, not exactly decided on what yet, and the front door something in between the grey and the white to make it stand out a bit. What colour do you do the gutters? DP seems to think they should be the same colour as the house and eaves, I personally think they should be the same as the roof. What would you do? |

Usually gutters are the same as the roof. We have just painted our gutters and chosen a different colour to the roof although previous they were matching with the roof. We painted our gutters woodland grey.

Do you have pipework etc coming down the exterior walls? If so I'm with you husband - it looks odd to have stripey bits at the top where the two colours meet.
Otherwise I'm team 'same colour as the roof'! |

The gutters at my house are black (to match the roof) and the downpipes are a browny colour to match the bricks. We didn't even notice they were different when we bought the house.

Otherwise I'm team 'same colour as the roof'! See I think that's what is causing the uncertainty, because yes there is a downpipe on the front exterior wall so that will obviously be the same colour as the front of the house. But then the gutter being different to the roof may look odd. I love that we have managed to basically redo our entire house without too many issues in terms of choosing what to do wear, but we find ourselves stuck over something as trivial as gutter colours |

Our downpipes are a different colour to our gutters, to blend in with the walls better.

I might go for a walk around the neighbourhood, a lot of houses have been renovated recently with new cladding and roof restorations etc, so maybe I can get some ideas from those as well and see what they've done.
