So on Monday a miracle happened and I had a positive POAS and blood test - HCG was 79. It's a miracle because we have major tubal factor issues (one removed, other one blocked) and were two months away from starting IVF! We had resigned ourselves to thinking it couldn't happen naturally then....
However, now I'm worried....I had a small amount of bleeding for 2 weeks before we tested....mostly spotting, but some was red blood. It was unusual as I usually have a regular cycle and the timing was all wrong for AF.
Anyway, HCG level from today (2 days later) is now only 98 :-( I know it's just a waiting game, and we will test levels again in two days. But, aargh, how cruel is it to fall pregnant when it's supposed to be impossible, and then for it to end badly. I guess it's possible that my HCG could rise properly on Friday, right? I'm just worried about the bleeding I had earlier. But if I'd miscarried, would my HCG levels still be going up at all?
Thanks for listening, it is so hard keeping this all a secret and trying to go about life as if nothing is happening. It is SO hard to wait!
Hi, I think if your levels are going up that's a positive. Is your doctor going to test again in a few days? How many DPO are you? Have you missed AF yet? If not then that could explain the low rise perhaps and when you get further along your levels will rise alot more rapidly. I think they are supposed to double every 36hrs or something.
If your bleeding was two weeks before your HPT and HCG test I think that is likely to have been implantation bleeding perhaps too
Try not to worry lovey
I am sending you sticky bub thoughts

The light bleeding / spotting I had at CD20, so I'm about 5 weeks since last proper AF. Don't know how many DPO since I wasn't charting (we didn't think there was any point, and were just waiting for IVF!).
I'm feeling slightly nauseous, and I'm clinging to the fact that levels are at least rising. Next blood test is on Friday. Fingers crossed x
Your Welcome, I think its very possible it was implantation bleeding based on the cycle day you were and the fact it was two weeks before your HPT and also your 5 weeks now.
Strong chance that bleeding was implantation. I hope for you it was just that. Keep us posted and best wishes coming your way
Hi there. Had to drop in...The rates are supposed to double every 48 hours, but there is give and take. I had the same thing. Rates increasing but very very slowly, bleeding and was told to prepare myself for a miscarriage. BUT I have just checked on our 14 month old baby....so anything is possible. He hung in...and is perfect. So it ain't over yet....
sounds like we are in the same boat....from what I've read, and stories I've heard, it can all work out ok as long as they are rising each time you get a blood test.
In theory, HCG levels are supposed to double every 48-72 hours, but everyone is different. So the main thing is that they are increasing with time.
Are you sure of your dates, being 4 weeks? Good luck for Friday - I am get tested then too! Come back and update us with your results. I have my fingers crossed for us both!
I would be encouraged that they have been rising. The quick search I did said 4 weeks 0 days 50-100 with an average of 75 and 100-200 for 4 weeks, 1 day. I'm sorry it's so nerve wracking. As PP said everyone is different...not much help I know.
