GOLD! Woohoo!

Beancat, hope the Physio helps. I've been considering going to get some help with my pelvic floor. Did you need a referral?

Hi Blossom 73, no didnt need a referral. If you are in Melbourne I can give you her details. She is excellent and used by Francess Perry House as their in house physio as well as doing private practice. She only does womens problems and i should only need a couple of visits. So even though she is very expensive it could end up cheaper than going to someone who doesnt know much about the problem and having to go for several visits

Hey ladies! Hope everyone is coping with the heat, growing bellies, nesting and all of the other delights original.gif I had my 6mth checkup with my midwife today, and I've been diagnosed with SPD. I had a feeling given the extraordinary pain I've had in my pubic/pelvis area, but I didn't have this first time around, and was wondering if anyone else has had it before, or been diagnosed this pregnancy, and how you are managing it? I've been icing, taking Panadol and I got a belly belt in the mail yesterday so will start wearing it. Ergh, hope it goes away after the birth.

ETA: My midwife also said they would be happy to hand our baby up to me as he is delivered via CS for immediate skin-to-skin! I'm pretty happy about this biggrin.gif

Hi Jenganoosh. Yes have SPD this pregnancy, and for the other two. Have managed it differenty each time. Is this your first pregnancy - hate to tell you but it generally gets worse with each pregnancy, this time I have sciaticia as well.

Am managing by doing:
Seeing a specialised womens physio in Melb
Back is currenty taped
Wearing tubi grip 24/7 - likely to start the belt next week
Supportive pillows at nights
Keeping legs together/square 24/7 (ie imagine you are constanty wearing a mini skirt)
Pelvic floor and deep core exercises
Minimise lifting and twisting movements
Walking on the flat
Avoiding hills and stairs

Oh geez beancat, not boogie!

2nd pregnancy, didn't have it with my first at all. But that was 7 years ago original.gif

Hopefully this belly belt helps. I will definitely be going to a specialist physio if this gets any worse.

Look after yourself!
