Our school is in its 3rd year this year and some parents have organized a second hand uniform buy/sell day.

I have 2 summer dresses, 2 polo's all in good but not excellent condition and a brand new woollen jumper that was never worn.

Never having seen or been to second hand uniform sales I'm not sure how much to sell for and therefore how much I should expect to be able to buy for.

The dresses new cost $44 and Polo's are 30 something. The jumper was $75 from memory.

The sale is 5 days before start of school and I hope I'm not being stupid by waiting to buy there before I go to the uniform shop.

Our second hand uniform stock sells for half the original cost.

ETA: our uniform shop only seems to stock uniforms that look like new!

I think it depends on the size you're after. Our experience has been that there is very limited second hand stock in small sizes because people pass them down through siblings.

At our school polo shirts sell for $5 each second hand. They make them as affordable as possible.

Our school sells the second hand stuff way too cheap eg. $5 for polos and dresses - but it has been donated to the uniform shop so they don't want to price it too high.

I have size 4 and 6 to sell and am looking at size 8 stuff.

Maybe I'll go to the uniform shop and see what their stock is like. Our school grew from 250 student to 700 in 2 years and the shop is notorious for not having stock but they promised the school they would have tonnes this year.

Our school's uniform shop sells second hand items very cheaply so many families don't bother selling through there and arrange private deals. Sport shorts sell for $5 each, summer dresses for $15 (rrp new is $80), button up dress shirts for $5-10 (new $50), wool jumpers $20 (new $90) etc.

The problem is they have limited stock in certain sizes.

Our uniform shop sells all second hand items for $2 each, though I think that may be changing this year.

I run our unifom shop including the sale of second hand uniforms. People hand in their second hand items and we sell them on a consigment basis. They tell me what they want for it and the school gets 10% of that. A lot of the time they simply donate it to the school and Im required to work out what to sell it for.
Our dresses are $65 new and they usually sell for about $20/25 second hand depending on how new/quality. A lot of themore faded slightly marked might sell for $5-10.
Our pinstripe shirts are $22 and sell for about $5.
Maybe just take some stickers annd see what others are selling theres for. Under half price is usually the norm.

Everything at our school clothing pool is donated, and then sold for $5 (blazers and bags are $10). Great for buyers, not so good for sellers unfortunately!
