Hi,
We had a similar budget but ended up paying about $1,500'for a sleep maker, Kent, I think?? We liked a fairly firm mattress and it has been good. I found it difficult to find anything in the $1,000 range. $600-700 seemed too cheap when we wanted it to last a long time, but then the next step up was $1500 - $2000 (ignoring those over $3K!!). We shopped around a lot to compare specials and also limit yourself to only testing a few beds per shop. They all start feeling the same after a while!! Good luck |

We bought the "body contour" mattress from Original Mattress Factory (OMF) in July last year. $1100 (after 40% off)
I suffer from arthritis, and this new mattress has been great. I know they currently have 40% off at the moment, as we've just referred a friend to them. |

Our mattress is great, it has a layer of springs, latex and then memory foam. It's brilliant - so comfy. We once had a memory foam mattress, I loved it but it died after about 5 years (mind you that was also two pregnancies for me so probably contributed).

We bought an ergoflex memory foam mattress. Best mattress ever! Still very happy almost 2 years later. Read some of the reviews.

Not sure where you are but we bought a mattress this year from Regal Mattress Solutions and both DH and I comment regularly about how much we love it. The factory outlet is in Noble Park right near our house and they seem to have clearances regularly.

Whatever you do don't buy a latex mattress - arrrrghhhh.
When we bought ours a few years back the lady in the shop told us they are a couple of degrees warmer than a normal mattress. We should of listened cause ours can get so hot at times. |

Don't buy a latex mattress, you'll only have to buy another one. Our most recent one was a Sealy posturepedic and it's great. All the stores have good discounts at the moment.

I went to Snooze at Mile End homemaker centre. They have this computerised mattress that you lie on and then they give you recommendations. We had a great lady help us too.
Our puchase was more like $2500 but there were cheaper options. Also bargain hard. They will discount. So check out Snooze. I found them great. This post has been edited by Ehill: 21/01/2013, 11:30 AM |
