I'm wanting to get some books for my DS 6th birthday coming up.

He likes reading books about things ie the moon, animals, facts of life etc. He seems interested in learning about things at the moment.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestion as to age appropriate books like this? Or any other books that this age group may enjoy?

Both my kids enjoyed the Magic Treehouse at that age.. it is a series that has a fact based storyline.

The DK range of books are great for factual stuff

The eyewitness series includes computers, scientists, Arctic and Antarctic just to name a few.

I've just bought DD1 a Billy B Brown book for Christmas. They are very basic books only about 4 chapters with rather large writing and basic words. DD can read most of it herself, with a little help from me.

Baa Baa Smart Sheep. It cracks us all up. It's about a clever sheep who tricks a turkey into eating poo. Our 6 and 3 year olds nearly choked laughing the first time we read it and walk around quoting it.
