I went to take the kids to see wreck it ralph with my boys today, which they loved.

My only concern was that while we were waiting for the movie to start they were playing music which most cinema's do but they were playing Nicki Minaj which in itself doesn't offend me but they never blocked out the swears.

I just think its inappropriate to play music with swear words prior to a kids movie. An adult marketed movie I can understand but not one aimed at kids.

It's not a big deal and I'm not looking to cause trouble, just a simple letter perhaps encouraging them to screen their music before playing before a young audience. I told the attendant but he just shrugged his shoulders and wasn't phased. I just don't appreciate that language in front of my kids if I can help it, they've heard it before but I try to limit their exposure. I don't think they even picked up on it. Maybe the manager wasn't aware and I can just let them know. WDYT?

The swear in the song was another word for poo, lol you know the dont abbreviate swear words on EB rule laugh.gif

Write a letter - maybe it's something they haven't considered. Would be very easy to change.

Thanks that what I was thinking. I am obviously not enraged or anything. I am just wanting to bring it to their attention and they can action as they see fit...hopefully not playing swear words for my or other's children original.gif

No I would not write a letter.
Plenty of other places my children hear swear words and I seriously do not have the time to write to everyone

Yes I would. It's probably just an oversight but if no one informs them then they might never rectify it. It wouldn't bother me either but I'm sure there are people out there who it would upset.

Write!

I don't even have kids, and I have a mouth like a sailor at time, but I am sick of hearing inappropriate music in stores and other public places, although it is the "b**ches and hos" anti women genre that bothers me more.

Yes I would.
I took my 5 year old to a childrens movie and in the ads prior there was a really graphic long ad about suicide.

I wrote a polite email to the customer service type area when I got home, as the staff on duty just shrugged. It took a while to find a contact email, as they didn't make it easy. They did acknowledge my email and indicated they would try to prevent this happening again. I figure its good to bring it to their attention.

Not the best idea on their part I don't think.. I was at McDonalds once, my kids were in the play area and they played closer by Nine inch nails, we were sitting there thinking "are they going to beep out most of the chorus?" Nope they didn't the majority of the restaurant just kinda stopped what they were doing with a look of "what the" on their face then everyone just laughed. Really inappropriate song for Maccas - or any public eating place really, but everyone did see the funny side original.gif
