Hello lovely EB name gurus
DH and I have been considering the name Daphne. I did a google search on the name and a number of people seemed to associate it with Scooby Doo. I never watched it growing up and am not sure if it is still popular with under 5s nowadays, what do you think? We've been tossing around middle names and so far the top picks are: Daphne Victoria Daphne Elizabeth (too chunky?) Daphne Isabelle None of these are really screaming 'pick me' at the moment though. If you totally HATE the name Daphne, can you tell me why and propose an alternative as we are a bit stuck this time around. We already have a Charlotte and if this had been a boy our choice was George so obviously we like old fashioned, easy to spell English names. Thanks ladies!!! |

I really love all of the other names you have mentioned...except Daphne, sorry.
I love English names too. For some reason I just find Daphne really dated and not as elegant as the other names you've mentioned. But the Scooby Doo thing wouldn't bother me, if I loved the name. |

I love the name Daphne. Although she may get "daff" for short which isn't very nice.
What about: Hazel Eliza Lucy |

Daphne is one of my favorites, though I associate it with ancient Greece rather than the English. For that reason I don't see it sitting against Charlotte neatly, but most probably wouldn't have that issue. The Scooby connection is a positive for me, so if you love it go for it

Daphne is my number one girls name, and funnily enough, Daphne Elisabeth is my no. 1 combo (Elisabeth is a family name, so a given). For that reason, I've never really thought of other middles...

Love Daphne! No idea about middle name though although possibly something plain and short to let Daphne stand alone?

Daphne is cool retro. Goes nicely with Charlotte. Victoria for the MN from your options because it begins with a consonant.
