I took a clear blue test this morning and it only said 2-3 weeks when I should be 5+ weeks.
I took it becasue I had a miscarriage last time and I'm concerned this one will end the same way. It says on the packet it is 96% accurate in regards to how many weeks if its taken in the morning - which I did. My Husband and I have had an argument about it - I wish I never took it. He grilled me for buying it - saying why I would buy it if it was going to make me sad. He said I ruined his hitch off (he is a rig worker), I have to admit I said 'thanks for the help' afterwards and it got worse from there on in. Now I feel like worse its hard not having any support from him over this - Point being I expected it to say 5+ week and it would have gotten rid of my concerns. He has no understanding of what I am going through. I am booking a docs appointment today so I can get the ultrasound dating scan but I know its going to take a while to get teh results back so I can't blame myself for trying to feel better - and subsequently because of the unexpected results, feeling worse. Now I have to deal with my last miscarriage, the fear of a miscarriage this time and now with a husband who is leaving for his hitch tomorrow for 2 weeks and he won't get over it today so he won't talk to me. This is more of a outlet then anything else. When it comes to these things - my Husband isn't there for me just because he is incapable of understanding my fears and thats just who he is, he is amazing in every other way until it comes to emotional needs - please don't grill him for it - you can't chance who you are . I'm just hoping somebody else out there gets it. |

Im no expert but i think the clear blue ones forget about the first two weeks of your cycle, so if it says 2-3weeks it means 4-5weeks
I hope someone else can help. Congrats on the result. (IMO no one can ever be 2-3weeks pregnant and be detected on a test.) spottydog |

Mine didn't say 3+ until closer to 6 weeks
They are just basic tests, they don't take into consideration that different women have greatly differing hcg levels. Don't worry yourself over a test. Trust me, its not worth it! |

Those tests show approximate number of weeks from CONCEPTION, not the first day of your last period (LMP) which is what is used pretty much everywhere else to count a pregnancy.
So 2-3 weeks on the ClearBlue will mean 4-5 weeks on a normal pregnancy calculation. Good luck with your pregnancy - sounds like the test is consistent with your current gestation. This post has been edited by MyButterflyGirls: 15/01/2013, 07:45 AM |

The Conception Indicator tells you how many weeks ago you conceived. Conception occurs approximately 2 weeks before your next period is due. So 3 + 2 =5 weeks pregnant.
You interpreted the results wrong , so you are on track and don't need to worry |

Yep, thoses tests give you a time frame from CONCEPTION, not of gestation. So as PP's have said 2 - 3 weeks means you are maybe somehwere around 4 or 5 weeks pregnant.
The thing is though, that these tests arent'an exact science and are proabbyl using an "average" HCG level for certain gestations. As in, at 4 weeks pregnant, the average HGC in our test group of women was this... so when the test registers over this level we will say 2 - 3 weeks since conception. Averages are just that - averages. Many people have levels higher and lower than the average and go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies. Just because you don't sit right in the middle of what is "normal" doesn't mean something is, or is going to go wrong. Also, it's only testing the HCG level in your urine, which is variable throughout the day and obviously not ver accurate or reliable. The only way you can get an accurate idea of your HCG levels is by a quantitative blood test. Honestly, while it's fun and reassuring being able to see the word PREGNANT on a tests (trust me, I've done enough squinting wondering if there is or isn't a line!) I think these tests can cause way more worry than is needed.... Make a Dr's apointment, get an HCG test if you want it, and book a dating scan for 7 weeks. It's really the only way you can get an accurate idea of the "health" of your pregnancy. Also, remember you DH is dealing with stress of this situation too - he's probably just as worried and scared of another miscarriage as you are. I know you need the support too, but try to remember he us dealing with this in how own way as well... xox |

Unfortunately we couldn't have conceived 2-3 weeks ago as he was working out of town.
I'm suppose to be 6 weeks and 2 days preggers. |
