Hi,
So our boys name is sorted but we are having so much trouble with a girls name. We have a few but I have a dilemma with our top pick... At the moment we are loving Averlea (A-ver-Lee) My issue with this is a work mate of mine recently (June 2012) named her daughter Ava.. I dont want to be know throughout the office as copying her name so what do you think.. is it too similar? (I know she does not own the name etc etc its more just peoples opinions...some at my work can be quite judgemental) Other names we are currently considering using are: Makaylea Ravenna Evania Sienna (though this is becoming way too popular so probably wont be on the list much longer) What do others think about the over and also open to any other suggestions, wanting unusual but not way out there and pretty but not frilly names Thanks Heaps P.S I have added a few more (page 3) based on your suggestions that I need opinions for. Thanks Heaps!! This post has been edited by pjemc: 15/01/2013, 08:11 AM |

Love Sienna regardless of how popular it is/isn't becoming. The other names on your list are not names I would choose. All hard to pronounce looking at them and your child will undoubtedly spend the rest of her life spelling her name out everytime someone asks her what it is. I know that this is not reason alone to exclude a name but even those reading here are not able to pronounce them - she will get that through all her schooling life and probably after too.
Sorry. |

I like Sienna. Don't mind Aveley spelt like this. Much prefer Micheala to Makaylea.

Honestly they all just sound super trendy to me.

go with Averlea if that's the one you love the most, I can't see it being too close to Ava at all, and even if it was screw work, don't miss out on naming your child the name that you love just because of bunch of idiots can't grasp the fact that two unrelated people might just happen to have the same taste in names.
