Well the ink is barely dry on DD2s birth certificate but I'm always thinking about sibling combos. So I'm loving Fern at the moment if I were to have a 3rd DD, so I looked it up and it can be a stand alone name meaning the plant, or it can be short for Fernanda. This is something I never considered before but then I saw the meaning 'ready traveller'. I'm a keen backpacker, still travelling and planning lots of trips for when my kids are a bit older, so I got very excited about the meaning of Fernanda, hoping to raise a few little backpackers!
I would pretty much just have Fernanda on the birth certificate and introduce just as Fern. WDYT of Fernanda? It's Portuguese/Spanish. |

I think of that Abba song 'Fernando' but I'm not keen on Fernanda or Fern as a first name.
I must have missed what you named you baby |

Love love love Fern. It was on the list if DS had been a girl.
Not keen on Fernanda though, as pp said reminds me of Abba's Fernando. |

Fifi - she is called Serafina (mn - Romeo's love).
As for ABBA, that's what I think of too but I love ABBA and that song so it's not a bad association for me. |
