We've lusted after one for a couple of years.

We've looked at it and love it.

Just a last minute thought, has anyone had one and hated?

Everyone I know who has one, loves them. I don't know anyone who has 4 children with a Q7 though, they all have 2 or 3 children.

The only reason we chose the Volvo XC90 over the Q7 is the Volvo's inbuilt booster. I am planning our next car to be the Q7, when the kids are a bit bigger!

The Volvo was our second choice. There's 5 anchor points in the Audi though or so we thought and were told?

Hi there

We have an Audi Q7 and have been really really happy with it. It is a pleasure to drive and it does have anchor points in all rear seats.
As a car it is a great fit for our three children, two of whom still need car seats. However, we are expecting No 4 in March so will be needing another car seat and here is where the logistics problem lies. If you have three car seats in second row there is no access to third row except via the boot which does not make sense to me. So then we tried a car seat in the third row but once you click second row chair back into place there is no real leg room in third row. We also found that you need to make sure the two car seats in middle row are narrow enough to allow to seat to fold forward and allow access to third row. So, after many attempts at different configurations of car seats and taking into account how the kids will fit as they grow taller in the next five years we have made the decision to sell the car and buy a toyota tarago that will fit our four darlings comfortably.
However, having written this detailed explanation, if you do not require car seats or only need one car seat/ booster then there should be no issue. If this is the case, then enjoy your new car.- it is a fine piece of automotive engineering.

Our oldest will be almost 6 by the time we need to start using the 3rd row so we will have 4 in car seats/boosters for probably only just over a year. We have not decided yet as to whether we'll put 2 in each row or 3 in the middle row and 1 in the back but we plan to buy new seats for all the kids for this car so needed narrow seats is not a problem for us. I didn't really find the leg room to be much different to other cars we looked at that will fit out family, but I guess I'm probably fairly short and we seem to change cars reasonably often so by the time there is not enough room in the 3rd row for our youngest we will definitely be on to another car. The bit about having to access the 3rd row via the boot seemed similar for most of the cars we looked at too.

It's good to hear how others have found it but I think we will still go ahead with it, I don't think much could change DH's mind now and it means I get to have an Audi too .

The car is fantastic and you will be happy with it there is no doubt. Our eldest turns 7 in 3 weeks so will be without a booster soon but I still need prams etc and we travel a fair bit so hence why we had to make the decision to sell -so practicality for us was the decider in this process. My sister has one and seems to like it. Two kids in front and two in back. People seem to enjoy deliberately ramming shopping trolleys into it but I think that's cos it's an Audi

I already generally park as far from the shops as I can or even along the road outside the shopping centre if it is possible so the they probably won't get their trolleys that far.
