Hi, our new house is nearly completed, the painter came last week to paint the internal walls and we realised that the colour coordinator stuffed up and the colour he had was actually the feature wall colour we had chosen (we were told the colour coordinator forgot the feature colour wall so we decided to not worry about it and have the same colour throughout)
Anyway, the colour is a nice mid grey/taupe kind of colour so we decided to just go ahead and paint the whole interior that colour. It looks really good but now my problem is that the built in sliding doors (vinyl) we chose are white because the walls were meant to be off-white and there wasn't any other colour close to the wall colour, but now that the walls are the darker colour, and we will have charcoal carpet, are the white builtins going to look out of place?

We are now a family of four! Girls rule the roost!
I think the easiest thing for you to do to visualise it is to stick some white copying paper end to end and then put it against your walls and stand back. That way you can see how the white works with the grey. There's white in grey so Im guessing it should be ok.

More carrot sticks please
what colour are your trim, architraves etc? If white, that could actually look good with grey walls and white doors.

All our walls are warm grey-brown and all our trim (including built in robe doors) is white and it looks great! I think you'll be pleasantly suprised original.gif

Only downside I can think of is that for rooms with little natural light it will be a little gloomy - esp if carpets are also dark?

It will look fine. All my walls are a coffee colour and I have white door frams and doors.
