My son is 20 weeks old and I've noticed that if he is standing on my lap facing me he will look everywhere else but at my face. He gives me eye contact at other times but when he's on my lap it's like he won't. Does anyone's else's baby do this?!

Hi, I can't remember if my DS did that specifically, but I was recently holding my nephew (about 7 months) and it was commented a number of times that he won't ever look at the person holding him.
I think eye contact is a learned behaviour so may take a while to watch you from all sorts of positions?? |

I would not worry about it at this stage, he is probably wanting to see what is around him and that is stimulating in itself. If he gives you adequate eye contact at different times then I would not worry about it at this stage. Just note it down and discuss with your Paed if you're still worried later on at his appropriate check up.

Hi, my son is the same age and I just tried it ith him and he did the same, looked everywhere else but my eyes. I'd say it's normal. My son can't bare weight yet so I probably should start doing it more often!

He's already better at this then he was yesterday. It's so hard not to worry about every little thing they do. I worry about whether or not he;s meeting his milestones when he should be. Another thing I noticed that he should be doing but isn't is turning to sounds. He can definitely hear but he seems to turn to other sounds more than other sounds - Is this normal?
