8 months old weird movements?

My 8 month old nephew has started doing this weird movements the last few weeks. He stretches his arms out in front of him then his shoulder will do a shrug or like a chill. Also at different times he will put his head to shoulder. We thought maybe he is cold but its been so hot so he cant be cold. He seems to do this alot everyday when you keep watching him. Could he be teething? My DS does something similar which seems to come hand in hand with new teeth. It does almost look like a twitch? But my DS will also rub his cheeks in his shoulder or bang them with his hands.

yes he is teething. she took him to the doctors and he said the baby is normal and most babies do twitches. She didnt video tape him. He didnt see the twiches the baby does. The twitches are getting more and more though compared to a month ago. It seems stupid that the doctor didnt refer her to paedritician, and he just says the baby is normal without seeing the twiches. My sister in law is happy with what the doctor says. What happens if a baby is left untreated? Does he get more spasms? and then what happens? Without more info it could be anything..... but my first thoughts reading your post is a type of seizure. Does he show any other signs when he's doing this? Unusual eye or mouth movement for example. What was the pregnancy like? I would suggest she push for a paed review and try to catch the movements on video. Maybe try posting in the special needs section, the ladies there are lovely and a wealth of information.
