Omg! In an effort to be fabulously clutter free when I go back to work, I've decided to tackle my groaning bookcase. I need some extra storage as ill be starting uni soon, and need room for books, notes etc. Anyway, I decided to put all my DVDs into those folder things, throw out the cases, and make a huge amount of space. Well. I have so far gone through 150 DVDs, 100 being kids movies. I reckon I still have 150 to go.
That is just NUTS!!!

I knew there were heaps, but crap!

Anyway, it got me wondering what do you hoard, keep, collect?

BTW, books are my other huge weakness.

I got rid of all DVD cases around 2 years ago and haven't looked back. I seriously couldn't believe the amount of free space we had just by getting rid of the cases!

I've actually just decluttered my over stuffed bookshelf and reduced my books by half. I can actually fit photos on the shelf now too.

I have many books on my iPhone/iPad now instead.

Nothing, my husband hoards enough for us all.

I did do the same with my kids dvds and we had over 200, its just crazy.

I bought a multimedia hard drive and transferred all our DVDs onto that and packed them all away, same with old CDs put them onto Ipod. Also bought a spare back up HD to have a copy of everything. Saves so much room!

I pass on books to my MIL to read.

I don't hoard anything, I hate clutter.

Books are my weakness. I am trying to reduce, re-use, recycle by giving many away as I read via bookcrossing. The funny part is that I meet up with fellow booklovers or chat with them online and sometimes I receive more than I give away LOL

I have managed to remove a bookcase worth of books as I read. I have also given away all the stashes and boxes of them that I had 'stored' under beds and in spare rooms. I do have some lovely big bookcases to store and display the ones I want to keep.

My other clutter problems are craft items. I prefer the concept of craft with the kids rather than the reality, so it tends to build up.

I am also not good at being ruthless with paper that comes into the house. I need to improve my storage and removal of it.

I have collections of crap everywhere, since I bought a kindle I have been a bit more ruthless with my novels, I have kept reference books for some reason even though I do all my research online.
My biggest thing is rocks, crystals and minerals, I literally have tonnes of rocks in display cabinets and in boxes throughout the house, the problem is they are worth a small fortune, to the right person anyway, so I don't want to just give them away but I have too many.
I have been thinking about transferring my CDs and DVDs onto an external drive. How big would I need to hold 400 odd CDs and DVDs?
