Has anyone else started to organise Christmas 2013 ?

I am sick of not having any money for Christmas presents so I've decided to start shopping now for next Christmas when I see a bargain that I know my children will love and/or need.

So far I have bought bookends in the shape of Chess Pieces for both my DSs for $4- a set from Kmart on Boxing Day.

Yesterday I bought 8 pairs of underpants for $1- each from Best and Less for our DD who will be 14 when Christmas comes around his year. I've bought more plain colours and less patterns as I think she'll have gone off patterned underwear by this coming Christmas.

I am so pleased with myself for starting early biggrin.gif

Keep a list, Sassy.
I found a metric ****tonne of pressies I'd forgotten about when cleaning out the gateway to hell aka Linen Closet.
Wrapped of course.
No idea of what they are.
I just shoved them right back in there alongside Jimmy Hoffa and the Holy Grail.

As for this year - all online.
I did it all online last year and everything went swimmingly, so will do so again and miss the cluster**** that has been previous years.

Revel in the smugness that is an organised and non-diabolical Christmas!

Excuse the cursing.

It's a bit early even for me but I second the idea of a spreadsheet.

I've set up my to do list and notebook for next year already. I'm going to avoid buying christmas presents as early as I usually do (I'm usually done by June) this year because I'll have one, if not two moves this year, so I don't particularly want to move extra stuff if I can avoid it.

I did it all online last year in the mid-year sale but it was a big mistake. My son changes his mind about what he wants so when the layby was delivered mid-Nov, half of it went back to purchase new stuff. This year I'm leaving it til closer to Christmas so I can get what they want.

I concur. DD1 was very spoiled Christmas just gone. I don't want a repeat of the brattish behavior that followed!

LOL, I mean to keep a list as well as I have done exactly the same thing in the past.

I told my sister last year that I only had 2 presents for my niece. After pulling everything out of the Linen Closet I found about 12 presents, that I had stashed away and forgotten about, for my niece biggrin.gif

I used to wrap everything well before Christmas but too much unwrapping unsure.gif has led me. to wrap at the last minute, number every item and write a list of what every thing is.

I cant even begin to think about it lol

That said it cant hurt to put a little money aside each week for those who always get stuck short of cash at the end of year.

I tend to do my shopping in Dec unless I have found something ideal and on sale earlier. I wouldn't buy in the July sales ready for Xmas, as I'm just not that organised.

So I am patting myself on the back this week, after buying a pair of gorgeous pewter xmas tree decorations at the key cutters and having them engraved with the kids' names ready for 2013 original.gif

I have just finished ordering Chrisco for next Christmas.
No not the overpriced hampers, I do the gift cards.
I was thinking of buying my 2 youngest iPad minis and updating my own iPad but instead of ordering them through Chrisco direct i dont have to pay the over inflated charged so I've ordered $1350 worth Harvey Norman gift cards so when they arrive I can just pop in to HN and buy them outright and wrap for Christmas.
I'm looking for other Christmas club ideas that just deduct money weekly and send you the gift card and then you can do whatever you please with at the end of the year.
Set it and forget it. Love it!
