Does anyone remember this food from the 80s?

Hoping someone can help jog my memory here.. I seem to remember a snack food from the late 80s/early 90s and I can't remember what it was called or if in fact it did exist and wasn't a figment of my imagination. It came in a foil packet that had two large rectangular crackers and one rectangular piece of orange cheese that you put in between to make a sandwich. The cheese like substance was quite thick. I think it was longlife shelf stable cheese like the Kraft cheese you buy in the blue box. Does anyone else remember this or am I crazy??? This post has been edited by flopsy: 11/01/2013, 02:16 PM

I only remember that the kraft cheese was wrapped in the silver foil. Probably still is I guess but I 've never bought it myself, my mum used to.

Was it le snack? It was soft cheese, not hard.

I grew up in the UK ( so probably not much help) but we had something similar. It was a Ritz sandwich, two crackers with soft cheese between. They were yum. I'm sure Ritz was made by McVities.

When we were in the U.S.A, there were all sorts of snacks like that. Shelves full of them. I haven't seen anything like it here though.

Yes!! I think I do remember this and eating it at uni around 1988!! I think it came in a plastic outer packet and a foil wrapped square of cheese! (If my memory is correct). Was a pretty processed bland type of processed cheese. Ahhhh - life was simpler then.......

YES YES YES that's the one!! and I am pretty sure that to open the cheese you pulled a little piece of string or something and it tore the foil wrapper open. Any idea who made them? It's driving me nuts trying to remember what they were called.
