Posted here as well for more/fast respenses. I am really keen, and I wanna get started, like yesterday! lol

What are some good ones? Pref easy to find as well.

I cant join a gym near home (i am a single parent so have no baby sitter and a child that will screech the whole time she is in a creche, so I get distracted and frustrated) and there are none near work that I can afford, so am going to attempt to lose weight by myself.

I can go for walks, but not at a very fast pace as said 4 year old cant keep up (getting better as she gets more confident on the scooter though).

I have 3 stairs to get into the house, so can do mini 'stairs', and enough floor space to plank etc.

What else do i need to get motivated?

Also, cannot have one of those 'door gym' things as all my bedroom doors are sliding doors lol

I really like the 10 Minute Solution DVDs.

Also, there are lots of good free pilates and yoga workouts on youtube.

There is so much you can do at home. I was a member of a gym for years & never lost the amount I have since quitting the gym & working out at home.

You can do -

Push ups
Sits ups
squats
lunges
side leg raises
tricep dips (using the stairs or a chair/coffee table)

Get some hand weights & do shoulder presses, tricep extensions & bicep curls.

You could also get a fit ball & do bench press with the hand weights & using the fit ball as the bench which will also engage your stomach muscles at the same time trying to keep balance.

If you have enough backyard space do some short power sprints with burpees, squats & lunges etc inbetween sets.

There is some great pilates videos on youtube too.

Just remember that weightloss is 80% diet.

Good luck original.gif

I should also add that I personally also use my weight bench and a weight training program from Bodybuilding.com.au.

You could get yourself a kettlebell and get workouts off Google. I recommend Lauren Brooks kettlebell workout DVDs, she also has a YouTube channel kbellqueen.

We have done the 30 Day Shred which was pretty good.

DH and I have just started the Insanity programme where you don't need any weights or even a lot of room. So far, it's really good but boy have my legs been sore!

I have a number of Bob Harper's DVDs and I really like them =- they generally have a short beginner workout and a longer more advanced workout.
