Hi everyone!
This is my first day as a member of EB
My title says TTC #1, but that's not entirely accurate - I went off BCP about 3 mths ago after a friend suggested to me that I just 'relax and let it happen'. DP doesn't know I went off which I feel guilty about ... but that's another story. Want to first determine whether I'm pg, then I'll deal with the moral dilemma!
AF: 5 days late (never been more than a day late in my ENTIRE life - whether on BCP or not)
HPT: -ve 13DPO; +ve 17DPO, then tried this morning (18DPO) and got a -ve!! Arrgghh...
Symptoms: tender nipples, constant pressure/ache/cramp in abdomen, heightened sense of smell
WDYT?
I realise many may be critical of my decision not to tell DP, but please, I am looking for helpful advice about what I can do in this current situation, rather than judgement & criticism (let's save that for later )

Just a tip - if you don't want judgment and criticism leave out any info not pertaining to your query! You could have just put the details about your HPT tests.....

Some people don't have their pregnancies show up on HPTs until 6 weeks... How do you know when you ovulated?

Do you have pics of the HPTs?
Were they the same brand? Have you used a first response test? - they are often the most accurate....

No pics, but the -ve at 13DPO and last night's +ve (17DPO) were both First Response tests. The 2nd line was faint, but it was DEFINITELY there.
-ve test this morning was with CB Digital.
I ovulated on Xmas day, according to OvuPlan OPK.

I would try another first response. I actually got clearer lines in the afternoon than the morning.

So you forgot to mention to your partner you went off the pill but you were using OPKs?? Alrighty then.....

Also, First Response tests are more sensitive than the CB digitals. If there was a line on the FR within 10 minutes then I would say most likely you're pregnant. Try again with another FR tonight or in the morning.

Helpful advice? There is nothing to do just yet. What you can do is wait until your period is actually due and then test to see if you are pregnant. Then you can put your big girl panties on and tell your dp that you took it upon yourself to make a life altering decision for him with no consultation. In future op, that feeling of guilt is your conscience telling you that you are doing something wrong. If you play fair, you don't have to deal with moral dilemmas.
