Hi Everyone

I love the name Charlotte (DH agrees too, which is great) and we would very much like to use it, however due to the popularity, I am a little reluctant.

The two middle names we plan to use are Lesley Alice. Could I please ask for suggestions of another first name?

Thank You
Baire

If one of the reasons you like Charlotte is because of the nn Charlie and you want a unisex nn then you could consider:

Georgia - Georgie
Francis - Frankie
Samara/Samantha - Sam

I like all of these but I know that they are not to everyone's taste.

If you like Lottie as NN it makes it less common. Love Lottie,/Lotte/Lotta, love Charlotte.

Alice Lesley is lovely or Alice Lesley Charlotte.

I think Charlotte is a beautiful name & I would use it regardless of the popularity.

What about Scarlett? Similar sound and not as popular, to me though it's also not quite as pretty!!

Other alternatives which are similar to Charlotte:
Clara
Carlotta
Charlize

Thank you Zanbam, I do not specifically like the name Charlotte because of a unisex nickname. My step brother has a daughter named Georgia, so that is out, really. Francis (though I would spell it Frances) & Samara are good suggestions, though original.gif

I've never met a Charlotte. Lots and lots of babies lately. And not a Charlotte among them. I think it depends on where you live, coz they aren't around here.

Use it! Classic, lovely.

Thats true, Lottie as a nn could be a good idea original.gif Alice Lesley Charlotte is very pretty too. I like that.

I do like Clara, Seaside_shells, it is a little too simillar to my own name however...

Oops, yep I spelt it the boy way!

I also agree with a pp that if you really love it then go for it regardless, I think in a classroom being one of three Charlottes, Sophias, whatever is popular at the time, is a bit of a pain but not nearly as painful as having a name that no one can pronounce or spell. Believe me after correcting people multiple times to be told "that's an unusual name, is it short for something?" gets pretty tiresome!

Some great suggestions here too, I love Jemima, DH does not, however, he related it to Jemima Puddleduck!
I wonder if he would like Henriette, hmm.

I know Pooks_ I do not know any either, it is just that "Charlotte" appears in all the top baby names lists and whilst I do not want it to bother me, should she have a classmate etc with the same name, I expect as soon as it happened (if I course it did) I would perhaps be regretful of my choice, which is basically for life...
