Hi girls, I just recently sold my apartment and will moving in about 5 weeks. I really need advice for a good, cheap and excellent removalist. I heard and reads lots of horror on some removalist. So please please let me know which removalist are best and worst.

IMO, cheap and excellent do not belong in the same sentence when it comes to removalists.

The best we've used was Kent. Not cheap, but not a single thing damaged or broken.

This time I've chosen a removalist from the feedback at www.womow.com.au reviews. I know cheap doesn't make it - but I got one quote and for about 4 hours work plus travel time, they were going to charge $1500 - to move about 2 streets away equiv. For the full removal they had quoted about $2500 and I just couldn't justify it for such a short distance move, and when I'm going to put everything I can in one place for ease of uplift. They got quite upset at me. But when others are offering a much better price (hourly rate so we are going by how long it actually takes) I cannot spend twice as much or more, than what others are offering.

But you know... out of so many removalists over the past years I have issues with so many of them! Thieves (through a backload) to dumping our stuff, not turning up. Just horrid stories that never end. So I did a search online for those with good feedback - then measured how easy they were to contact and reply to my questions.

So I'll let you know haha. Hopefully this will be the LAST move! I will have done most of the work on the day so it shouldn't be too hard!

Moving is a nightmare isn't it??!!

It can all depend where you live. We used aforementioned Kent for a move from Brisbane to Sydney and they were faultless. When we moved Sydney to Perth with them again it was a complete and utter disaster. We tried to get explanations from NSW and WA state managers and no one cared. Still waiting to hear from Mr Kent 3 years later

I do agree you get what you pay for. However we have had some luck with Mini Movers. They do interstate and around the corner moves and you can get easy quotes online.

We had a fantastic experience with bella rose removals who were recommended to us. Similar move i.e. Only a few streets apart, 3 bdrooms done quickly, total price was a couple of hundred.
