One of the very very very few names (ok so it's the only one) DHand I both have on our lists is Ryan. The trouble is DH's cousin has a Rylan. It's too close and I need to scrap it don't I?

The names themselves are close.

However, unless you're pretty close to your DP's cousin's family, then I still think it's useable.

Depends, to me, how close you are to dh's cousin and Rylan.

DD has the same name as a cousin (different last name), that I have never met. His grandma made ne comment but nit an issue as they don't play together etc

I wouldn't even consider what my husband's cousins children are called when naming my children unless I saw them very regularly, as in, at least once every month.

We do see them at least once every month. There's that many of us that we get together that often just for birthdays. And it's a small place where we live. Rylan is going to be approaching 12 when baby is born though

Most annoying part is I wanted to use Lucas but he said no based on the fact it's too close to his cousin Luke who he hasn't seen or heard from in over 15years. Bloody men
